Syamaprasad Institute of Advanced Education (SIAE) has proposed to launch B.Ed college at New premises of SPC under CU with due approval of NCTE.

Functional Activities of SIAE: SIAE proposes to launch the following projects to be run under the control and authority of SIAE and / or as per direction of the authorities concerned:

1. An IT Centre of Excellence : (A Proposed Pan-Indian IT Learning Centre) Modern Job oriented, Market based IT Education & Training programs along with a software development Centre shall be initiated. [Assistance is specially solicited in this sector. A Under Graduate Technological Degree Program in IT shall be run under the SIAE.

2.Syamaprasad Institute of Technology & Management (SITM) : (A Technological degree College for augmentation of Technological Education in the State of West Bengal ) :: Technological Under Graduate / Post Graduate degree programs and Diploma / Certificate courses to be instructed here. 1 st phase: BCA & MCA; & 2 nd phase >> B.Tech programs in Basic & allied branches of Engineering & Technology.

It is to be noted here that SITM has already been approved by Govt of West Bengal & affiliated to WB University Of Technology (A State University). Vide [SITM's affiliation no: 153/ University Order dated BCA Degree program is being launched from July 2002.

3. Para Medical Degree Courses / Training Center B.Sc in Optometry, Nursing, Diploma / Certificate in Yoga therapy, Physio-therapy etc. courses to be introduced.

Entrepreneurs' Advanced Training Program: for up gradation of technical know-how for entrepreneurs and small scale and cottage industry sector.

4. Vocational Training Program: For development of Technological know-how and skill of Professionals, Advanced Students, and small scale entrepreneurs; and for unskilled artisans/ workmen-including the Minority and backward community of people, Allied Certificate / Diploma Courses shall immediately be introduced on approval of competent Authorities like State Council of Technical Education (SCTE), DOEACC; W.B University of Technology etc. A few of such courses may be cited below:

Computer Aided Design (CAD); (b) CAM; Some Novel courses like (c) GIS (Geographic Information System) (d) Total System Installation & Maintenance (ESM) (f) Entertainment and Household System Maintenance (EHSM) &c.

Some courses specially designed for small scale / Cottage Industry workers and beneficiaries; and specially for Backward / Minority Class Women and Men; like >> Different hands-on-training for self employment of unemployed youth.

5.Entrepreneur Development Centre & Entrepreneurs' Advanced Training Program:

For imparting basic technical know-how and up gradation of technical know-how for entrepreneurs and small scale and cottage industry sector in rural & urban areas.
